What? FTP Server Change

When? Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 09:00 AM Eastern until 2:00 PM Eastern

Why? To provide robust security for file transmissions both now and in the future

Summery:

On Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 09:00 AM until 2:00 Pm, FTP service will be unavailable while I work to switch users over to a more secure, robust FTP server.
The server called VSFTPD, implements support for TLS/SSL encryption at both the connection and file transmission levels.
This insures security while transacting with the FTP server whether to retrieve file listings or to upload, delete, or create files.
VSFTPD’s model is security first, insuring all who use it from large scale sites down to the smallest of sites, uphold security practices by making sure support for the latest of encryption technologies are available when needed.
To insure FirestarHosting.CC remains secure and for the best of user experiences, this FTP server change is needed. Thus, I will do my best to have the server back up by the stated time above.
If for some reason the server is not back up by the above stated time, it will be back up sometime tonight.
While on this blog there will not be an updated post once the server is up, customers will be emailed once FTP service is restored.
